We shared this on Facebook a few days ago and wanted to post about it here some more.
For as long as he's been walking, Mr. L has been an avid rock collector. We have a box filled with rocks of varying sizes, shapes and textures. And he knows them all.....as in: he knows when one is missing. ;-P
Lately he's taken to singling certain ones out and assigning them a role of some kind -- "baby rock", "big rock", etc. Now he's gone and named an entire family and it appears to be ours!
Squeezing in an evening post to share some additional Turkey Day decoration motivation! :) That Thanksgiving is next week already blows the mind. November was swallowed up for us faster than we could blink! Looking forward to a wonderful time spent with family and loved ones!
I like the idea of doing this with fake leaves as I feel they would stand up to Mod Podge better. Seriously, how much do you love any excuse to Mod Podge something?? Or is that just me? Nevermind.
Excellent and budget friendly option for a placemat! How much do you love any excuse to break out Kraft paper and a black Sharpie?? Again, just me??? Moving on.
And this. This is not a decor item per se.....but it's pumpkin cheese cake snickerdoodles and when will I ever get to talk to you about that?? When I say?! ;-D

This is Alex's last paternity leave weekend - he returns to the office on Monday. We will definitely miss him. I mean, hello, it's not like he's shipping off....he'll be home by 6pm Monday night...but you know how it is. You get used to it being all the family, all together, all the time. ;)
I've said it throughout the week but then I've also been in and out of my own frustration at being cooped up and told to rest (I'm no picnic when made to rest) so who knows how much it's shown through at times, but I'm very grateful for all the help that Alex has been these last 2 weeks. Toddler wrangling, straightening up around the house, the occasional night of unexpected baked goods, newborn assistance....he's done it all and with no complaints. I can't ask for much better than that so thank you my love. Thanks for diving into our weekly tornadoes around here ~~ I speak for myself and the littles when I say, "We love you."
Random aside: My sister just texted to say she slept 16 hours straight last night. Thanks Ron. ;-P
Mr. Isaac and Mr. Alex, sharing smiles ;)
We've had Alex home with us since last week and it's been really nice getting to all be together as we've transitioned to a party of four. ;)
Alex has been a huge help, especially in the first few days when I was mostly just physically exhausted. The beauty of babyhood the second time around is that you're more confident in what you're doing obviously plus you've graduated past rookie parenting mistakes (mostly). I have to say we've been doing pretty darn good! Now....what happens once I'm on my own with these 2 kiddos is a whole other story and yes, I'm definitely accepting prayers and good luck wishes for that. ;-P
More life in photos below!
Late night Friday post, say what! ;-P
It's actually only just after 8:30 here but when you've got kids, you know that late night is everything that exists after the kids go to bed for the night.
(party like rockstars! just kidding...we zone out on the couch half the time.)
This week's holiday inspiration kicks off the days of preparation leading up to Thanksgiving!! Oh glorious, glorious day. Pie, turkey, family, blessings. Pie. :)
natural elements in your table settings ~~ decorative to-go bags for guests and family
a string of lights with greenery woven through ~~ styrofoam balls picked up from local craft store with faux sunflowers glued on for hanging decorations
dark and dramatic centerpieces for an elegant Thanksgiving table!
Someone over here is 1 week old today....
As I type this, I've got Isaac napping next to me and Liam is out adventuring with his Pops. I tell ya', if I had a peppermint mocha, I could say I've done all I've ever wanted to do. ;)
Life in pictures!
Soooooo excited for Thanksgiving!!!
A day to reflect on all you are blessed with, give thanks AND chow down?
Yes and yes and yes. :-D
Isaac is of this opinion:
If your Saturdays don't look like this you're doing them wrong. ;)
Everybody? Isaac Gabriel Street.
Joined the party on October 29th and we could not be happier. ;)
Last year we started a great little series called "Holidecor" (my invented word, because that's what I do). We shared holiday decoration inspiration ideas from Thanksgiving through preparation for New Year's and most of the ideas came from my curated collections via Pinterest! ;)
Well this year we'll be sharing our Holidecor posts again with the addition of HALLOWEEN! For some people, the holidays really kick off with Thanksgiving but for me, it all kicks off with Halloween. From October through January, I'm generally in a jolly mood because there's so much to look forward to!
So here we go: our Holidecor post for Halloween; sharing a few good decorative ideas that you can quickly put together in the days that remain as we gear up for All Hallow's Eve! ;)

round up some shoe boxes, spray paint them black and make them creeped out cubbies for an entry way or house party display.
